Movie Review: Alexander

As you know, Alexander was a very famous guy back in days when people walked around in Togas. He was quite a general. What you probably don't know, is that he was probably gay. This sets up a very interesting character and a compelling figure. Therefore, they decided to make a movie about him. The same director as those who made The Doors, JFK and Ernest Goes To Jail, heh, just kidding on the last one.

Of course, the movie previews looked pretty cool. You know from the preview, when Alexander on a horse is about to fight a dude on a elephant or something. That would have been cool. I guess since I walked out on the movie before that part because I couldn't take it anymore. The movie flat out sucked.

The movie takes forever to go anywhere, and the plot is far too complicated and does not dwell in anyone place for long. It feels like they are getting as much history covered as possible. It's makes the movie just seem boring and trivial. I would have preferred a much more meticulous approach dealing with a more condensed period of his life with some simple flashbacks. Anyway, the movie just becomes a huge mess that ends up somewhere in India. That's when I left the largely deserted theatre. As deserted as Oliver Stone's (the director) voicemail machine. So in review -2 Stars. Which makes it 2 black holes.
