So Abu Musab Zarqawi, (the guy who according to the CIA cut off Nicholas Berg's head and can be linked to the deaths of about 700 people in Iraq) could have been killed in an airstrike not TWICE but THRICE before the war even started but "the administration feared destroying the terrorist camp in Iraq could undercut its case for war against Saddam." This guy's gang of terrorists were planning to attack London with bio-weapons, but law enforcement was able to stop anything tragic from happening. The Pentagon drew up a plan to finish them once and for all but was stopped by the White House (for the third time)! What the fuck is going on here? Apparently the Administration felt Zarqawi (a bin Laden associate) being in Northern Iraq (a place controlled by the Kurds not Saddam and airspace owned by us) was their only real case for an Al-Qaeda connection to the regime in Baghdad. They even put it in Colin Powell's presentation (of now spectacularly flawed and hyped intelligence)to the UN in February before the war. Moral clarity where? Apparently Bush only killed those terrorists that don't hurt his case for war in Iraq. Talk about obsession. The whole sorry tale is recounted by Slate's Fred Kaplan. I can't say it enough, SCANDALOUS. Where's the mothafucking outrage? Raise your hands now.
